Symptoms

Apple Hardware Test version 3A222 misidentifies the following graphics cards on a Mac Pro (Mid 2012):

  • The ATI Radeon HD 5770 is identified at an ATI HD Radeon 5870
  • The ATI Radeon HD 5870 is identified at an ATI HD Radeon 5770

Resolution

Use the System Information utility to properly identify which graphics cards are installed on a Mac Pro (Mid 2012).

  1. From the Apple () menu, choose About this Mac.
  2. Click More Info. 
  3. Click System Report.  
  4. In the Hardware section, click Graphics/Displays to see details on the graphics cards that are installed in your computer.
