Mac mini: About HDMI audio and headphones

Symptoms
Under some circumstances, if you connect an HDMI display or television to a Mac mini (Mid 2010) or later, you may not be able to select the HDMI audio device in the Output tab of the Sound preferences while headphones are plugged in to the computer.
Resolution
Unplug the headphones from the computer; you should be able to select HDMI audio.

Additional Information
The OS X Lion (10.7.2) software update adds this change to mimic the mutually exclusive speaker behavior of iMac and Apple display products that use Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt.
