Logic Studio (2009), Logic Express 9: May unexpectedly quit during save, bounce, or quit

Symptoms

After upgrading to Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard from Mac OS v10.5 Leopard, Logic Express 9 and Logic Studio (2009) applications such as Logic Pro 9 or SoundTrack Pro 3 may quit unexpectedly. This may occur when attempting to save, bounce, or quit.

Resolution

This can happen if there is an issue with the ProKit framework. To resolve the issue: 

  1. Place the file  /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ProKit.framework  in the trash. Enter an administrator password when requested.
  2. Install ProKit 7.0 from this link.
