MobileMe Calendar: Duplicate calendars and events appear after updating to iOS 4.2 on iPad
Products Affected
MobileMe Calendar, iPad
Symptoms
After updating to iOS 4.2 on iPad, if you use MobileMe Calendar you may see duplicate calendars and events.
Resolution
If you have manually configured MobileMe Calendar as a CalDAV account prior to upgrading to iOS 4.2, and have the Calendar slider in your MobileMe account set to "on," your iPad will look for your MobileMe Calendar data twice, resulting in the display of a duplicate calendar.
To confirm you are experiencing this issue:
- On your iPad, tap Settings.
- Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Tap your MobileMe account and confirm that the Calendar slider is enabled.

- Tap Done.
- Tap the manually-created CalDAV account (cal.me.com) you created when setting up MobileMe Calendar on your iPad. If this is enabled, your iPad is now configured to look for your MobileMe Calendar data twice, resulting in duplicates to appear on your iPad.
To resolve this issue:
- After looking at the manually-created CalDAV account mentioned above (step 5), select the CalDAV account that has the issue:

- Tap Delete Account

- In the dialog that appears, confirm that you want to delete the duplicate account from your iPad by tapping Delete.
Note: If you do not have duplicate calendars after updating to iOS 4.2, it is still recommended that you delete the MobileMe CalDAV account on your device and instead use the calendar slider in your MobileMe account. This will give you a better experience with MobileMe Calendar.
