MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010), MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010): Stops responding

Symptoms

You may notice a rare issue that can cause the MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) or MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) to stop responding during startup or operation.  

Resolution

Download and install the MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.9 to resolve this issue.
