iOS 4: Missing text when viewing an email in Japanese

Symptoms

Occasionally, when viewing an email message written in Japanese that includes an attachment, you may not see the text of the message. The text does appear when previewing or replying to the message.

Resolution

This issue occurs when you receive an email message sent from a (computer-based) email application that uses the ISO-2022-JP character set and the message includes an attachment. If you encounter the issue update to iOS 4.1 or later:
