Mac OS X v10.6: iCal client shows incomplete free/busy information for Exchange invitees

Symptoms

When iCal is configured to use a Microsoft Exchange server account, all busy times for invitees may not appear when viewing invitees' free/busy times in the Availability window. This may happen when invitees are already busy in the time slot for which a meeting is being created.

Resolution

To see all free/busy information for invitees in the Availability window, drag the meeting for which you want to check availability to a time outside of the original range of the meeting. For example, if a meeting was originally scheduled from 1pm to  2pm, drag it to end before 1pm or to start after 2pm. This will load the complete free/busy information for invitees so you can choose an appropriate meeting time.
