Boot Camp: 2727 error or restart pending message when upgrading Boot Camp 2.2 to 3.0

Symptoms
Windows may display a 2727 installer error or restart pending message when you upgrade from Boot Camp 2.2 on a Mac running Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) to Boot Camp 3.0 on a Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Resolution
If you receive a 2727 installer error:
- Click OK to advance the the next screen.
- Another message will appear stating that a restart is pending. Click OK.
Remove or Uninstall Boot Camp Services using the following steps:
- From the Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs (XP) or Programs (Vista or Windows 7).
- Locate Boot Camp Services in the list. Single-click on it to select it.
- Click Remove (XP) or Uninstall (Vista or Windows 7).
- When asked if you are sure you want to remove or uninstall, click Yes.
- Click on the X to close the window.
Reinstall the Boot Camp 3.0 drivers using the following steps:
- Restart Windows.
- Insert the Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Install DVD.
- Double-click on Run setup.exe.
- Click on Boot Camp Drivers.
- If prompted to allow changes, click Yes.
