VoiceOver: Using VoiceOver on a Mac without a display attached may cause applications to be slow or unresponsive

Products Affected

Mac OS X 10.5, Mac OS X 10.6, VoiceOver

Symptoms

When using VoiceOver on a Mac that does not have a built-in video display (such as a Mac Mini or Mac Pro), some applications may become slow or unresponsive when no display is connected.

Resolution

Connect a DVI, Mini-DVI, or Mini DisplayPort adapter (depending on the video output your Mac uses) to the computer--the adapter doesn't need to be connected to a display, just to your Mac.
