Final Cut Server: "Unable to launch the application" alert may appear when launching Final Cut Server client

Symptoms

After upgrading your operating system or installing an update to Java on a client system, launching a Final Cut Server client application that previously worked as expected may cause an "Unable to launch the application" alert to appear.

 

Resolution

To address this issue, select the Final Cut Server client icon in the Finder, Get Info on the application by choosing File > Get Info, and select the option to "Open in 32-bit mode."
