Xsan 2: "The item will be deleted immediately" or "-1407" alert when moving items to the Trash

Symptoms

When moving items from a locally-mounted Xsan volume to the Trash, you may see an alert stating "The item will be deleted immediately" or an alert with the number -1407.

Resolution

On the affected Xsan client computer:

  1. Force quit the Finder.
  2. Click the Relaunch button.
  3. Click Relaunch again.
