Color 1.5: Freeze frames with variable speed adjustments applied in Final Cut Pro renders the full source media file

Symptoms

If a freeze frame is made from a clip that contains variable or constant speed adjustments in Final Cut Pro, rendering the freeze frame clip will render the full source media as opposed to only the freeze frame from the source media.

Resolution

Export any freeze frames with variable or constant speed adjustments in Final Cut Pro to self-contained QuickTime movie files. Edit the resulting files into your sequence to replace the freeze frame prior to sending your project to Color.
