Color 1.5: Trimmed and speed changed clips render to DPX/CIN (Cineon) with extra frame at beginning and end

Products Affected

Color 1.5, Final Cut Pro 7.0

Symptoms

If you apply a speed change to a trimmed clip in Final Cut Pro and you send it to Color, the clip previews in Color with an extra frame at the start and end. If you then render the Color project to DPX or CIN (Cineon) files, those extra frames are rendered to DPX or CIN files as well.

Resolution

Export any trimmed clips in Final Cut Pro that contain speed changes to self-contained QuickTime movie files. Edit the resulting files into your sequence to replace the relevant clips prior to sending your project to Color.
