iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to sign in to iTunes Store with AOL screen name

Symptoms

You may be unable to sign in to the iTunes Store using your AOL screen name on your iPhone or iPod touch. When this occurs, you may see a message stating that your user name or password was invalid or incorrect.

Resolution

To sign in to the iTunes Store using your AOL screen name on your iPhone or iPod touch, please follow the steps below.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Store.
  3. Tap Sign In.
  4. When you are prompted to enter your iTunes account name and password, enter your AOL screen name and password.
  5. Tap OK when you are finished.

After signing in, you should see your account name at the top of the screen, next to Account. If you'd like to review or edit your account information, tap View Account. Otherwise, press the Home button to get back to your Home screen. You may then tap the iTunes Store or the App Store to purchase and browse using your iPhone or iPod touch.
