Final Cut Pro: Speed interferes with Smooth Cam

Symptoms

When you apply Speed to clips that use the Smooth Cam filter, Smooth Cam stops working.

Resolution

To work around this issue:

  1. Apply Smooth Cam to the clips in the sequence.
  2. Choose Sequence > Nest Items in the main menu.
  3. Apply Speed to the new container sequence created in the previous step.
