iMovie '09: Properly ejecting a Sony Webbie HD camcorder

Symptoms

You may see a Device Removal message when you disconnect your Sony Webbie HD (MHS-CM1 or MHS-PM1) camcorder from your computer after completing an import and properly ejecting the camera in iMovie.

This may occur because the Sony Webbie HD camcorder mounts two volumes on your system when you connect your camcorder instead of one.

Resolution

Before you disconnect your camcorder, be sure to manually eject the following volumes after completing an import in iMovie '09 when using a Sony Webbie HD camcorder:

  • The "NO NAME" volume
  • The "PMBPORTABLE" volume
