Boot Camp: Start up to black screen after installing Windows

Symptoms

Your Mac may start up to a black screen after installing Windows XP or Vista using Boot Camp.

Resolution

Begin by reseting PRAM. If resetting PRAM does not resolve your issue, reset the SMC:
