MobileMe: Some shared files may not download properly

Symptoms

After sharing a file with MobileMe iDisk, when you or someone you are sharing with try to download the file, it may not download and you may see a message indicating that the file is not available. Also, the file may download as a 4 KB ".html" file.

This can occur if the name of the file or folder containing the file:

  • Begins or ends with one or more spaces. For example, " filename.txt".
  • Contains a carriage return or line break (the space created by pressing the Return key).

 

Resolution

Rename the shared file or the folder that the file is in to eliminate any spaces or carriage returns, then share the file again.
