MobileMe: "The volume for 'iDisk' cannot be found" alert in Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1

Symptoms

When you try to connect to your iDisk in Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.4.1, you may see this message:

"The volume for 'iDisk' cannot be found."

Resolution

Download and install the latest version of Mac OS X 10.4.x.

If you've updated to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.4 and still get the "iDisk cannot be found" message: Restart your computer, wait 10 minutes, and then try to connect to your iDisk again.

Additional Information

If the issue persists:

  1. In the Finder, choose Preferences from the Finder menu .
  2. Click the Sidebar icon at the top of the window.
  3. Deselect the iDisk checkbox, then select it again.
