Archived - Boot Camp 2.0, Mac OS X 10.5: Character issues when keyboard layout/IME is set to Irish in Windows
Products Affected
Boot Camp, Windows Vista, Windows XP
This article has been archived and is no longer updated by Apple.
Symptoms
In Windows XP or Vista, after setting the Regional & Language Options control panel's Standards & Formats setting to "English (Ireland)", the Default Input Language to "English (Ireland) - Irish", and the keyboard layout/IME to "Irish", certain characters may not correspond to the physical layout of a European ISO keyboard (where the € symbol is on the 2 key).
Resolution
Use the "United Kingdom" keyboard layout/IME instead of Irish.
