With Microsoft Windows Vista, the default Web browser choice cannot be set via Safari preferences in Safari Beta 3.0 for Windows.

Resolution
You can configure Safari Beta 3.0 for Windows to be your default web browser in Windows Vista this way:
- Log in to Windows Vista with an administrator account.
- From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- In the upper right search field, search for "default programs".
- Click "Change default programs that Windows uses" in the search results.
- Click the "Continue" button in the "User Account Control" window.
- Click the "Custom" radio button.
- Click the "Safari web browser" radio button.
- Click the OK button under "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults".
