iTunes Store: Alert "-42023"

Symptoms
When using iTunes, you may experience the below alert (ending in "-42023") when downloading purchases from the iTunes Store.

Resolution
Resume your download
- Click Downloads under Store in the left-hand side of the iTunes window.
- Click the Resume All button at the bottom of the window.
Delete the incomplete download files
If you are unable to download your item by resuming your download, try deleting the temporary download files and starting the download again.
To find the temporary download file for the affected purchase:
- Navigate to the iTunes downloads folder on your computer. This folder can be found in the below locations. Note: The "iTunes Media" folder may appear as "iTunes Music".
Mac:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads
Windows Vista:
\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\ - Locate the folder containing the temporary file. The folder will be named the same as the affected purchase but with ".tmp" at the end of the filename.
- Delete the folder containing the incomplete download by dragging it to the Trash or Recycle Bin.
- Open iTunes.
- From the Store menu, choose Check for Available Downloads.
- Enter your account name and password and click the Check button.
Windows 7:
\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows XP and 2000:
\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
