Final Cut Server: Audio is sometimes missing from projects checked in via XML

Symptoms

When you check XML into Final Cut Server, audio may be missing in rare cases.  This may happen if a nested sequence has no audio on the left track of a stereo pair or has audio where the left track is a duplicate of the right track.

Products Affected

Final Cut Server 1.x, Final Cut Pro 6.x

Resolution

Try one of these two steps.

  • Check in the entire project, not just the XML.
  • Copy the contents of the nested sequence and paste them into a new sequence, then export XML from Final Cut Pro.
