iPhoto: Printer troubleshooting guidelines

Symptoms

Some printer drivers may not be compatible with the custom print dialog offered by iPhoto. As a result, your pictures don't print, or they do not correspond to the expected output (wrong color, wrong size, and so forth).

Resolution

Use one or more of the following workarounds to resolve the issue:

  • Print from the Advanced Options pane.
    1. Choose Print from the File menu.
    2. Change the print options as desired.
    3. Click Advanced Options.
    4. Click Print.Print to PDF.
  • Print to PDF
    If printing directly from the Print dialog does not appear to resolve the issue, try creating a print preview (PDF). Then, try printing the preview from the Preview application.Update the printer driver.
  • Update the printer driver
    Updating the printer driver with the latest version available from the vendor may resolve issues printing from iPhoto.
