Symptoms

After upgrading from a previous version of iTunes, my movies don't play any more and QuickTime tells me:

"You need to authorize this movie to play it on this machine"

Products Affected

QuickTime for Mac

Resolution

Make sure that you are using the latest version of QuickTime. This can occur if your version of QuickTime for Mac OS X is not current.

You can use Software Update to update QuickTime or you can download the installer from the QuickTime page.

Additional information

This doesn't happen on Windows since iTunes for Windows includes QuickTime.
