Symptoms

The output range for Space Designer's Dry and Rev Output sliders is different in Logic Pro 8 and Soundtrack Pro 2 than in Logic Pro 7 and Soundtrack Pro 1. The range was -99 db (decibels) to 0 db but is now-64 db to 0 db.

Resolution

With the difference in the behavior of the output controls you have finer control in the area between -20 db and 0 db. In Logic 7 and Soundtrack Pro 1, this range represented about 20% of each slider's throw. In Logic Pro 8 and Soundtrack Pro 2, about 66% of the slider throw controls the area from -20 db to 0 db.

Levels below -64 db are essentially inaudible, so there's no practical need to set the controls any lower.  If you set either slider between -65 db and -99 db in a Logic 7 or Soundtrack Pro 1 project, it will be set to "Mute" when you open it in Logic Pro 8 or Soundtrack Pro 2.
