An eMac, eMac (ATI Graphics) or eMac (USB 2.0) computer's display may make a noise and the image may shimmer for a few seconds when it starts up or wakes from sleep.

The display is behaving normally and does not require service. What is happening is called "degaussing." Degaussing is the process of stabilizing the magnetic field of the CRT. It is a normal function of every display.
The display will degauss (magnetically adjust) during startup and when waking from sleep.
