Audio recordings contain clicks or pops.

Resolution

To get the best results recording with your audio interface, it's important that you set its clock source correctly. Incorrect settings may cause dropouts, clicks, or pops in your recordings. Here's how to configure the clock source for your interface:

  1. Launch the Audio/MIDI Setup application from /Applications/Utilities.
  2. Click Audio Devices at the top of the window to view your audio interface configuration.
  3. Choose your audio interface from the Properties For pop-up menu.

  4. If you are using your device's analog inputs, choose Internal from the Clock Source pop-up menu. The exact terminology for this may vary, depending on your particular audio interface.
  5. If you are using digital inputs for recording, then choose the type of digital inputs you are using from the Clock Source pop-up menu. For example if you are using ADAT lightpipe inputs, you would choose ADAT. If you are using SPDIF inputs, you would choose SPDIF.
