Color 1.0.x: About anamorphic 16:9 DV

Symptoms

DV format video in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio (16:9) may not be displayed with the correct proportions when viewed in Color. Instead of being displayed as 16:9, Color may display the video with the 4:3 aspect ratio, as in SD fullscreen. Your clips may appear to be "stretched tall" in the Color interface.

Note: This is a cosmetic issue; it will have no effect on the color data in your video.

Products Affected

Color, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Studio (2009)

Resolution

If you're working in a DV anamorphic sequence in Final Cut Pro, and you send that sequence to Color, the clips will be displayed with the 4:3 aspect ratio. After you've made your color corrections, and returned the sequence back to Final Cut Pro, the correct display geometry will be restored. Your sequence will appear as anamorphic widescreen once it's back in Final Cut Pro.

Additional Information

This issue is resolved in Color 1.5, part of Final Cut Studio (2009).
