LiveType titles imported into Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express may not display as expected on a computer display
Symptoms
When you import titles that were created with LiveType into Final Cut Express, the graphics may not display the expected quality when you view them on a computer monitor. This happens because Final Cut Express does not support RGB processing. Although Final Cut Pro does support it, this can happen to you too depending on your settings.
Products Affected
Final Cut Express, Final Cut Pro
Resolution
If you are experiencing quality issues with your imported LiveType movie, connect a video monitor to your DV device to view your rendered composition in full resolution. Viewing on a video monitor allows you to judge the true quality of your LiveType movie, as well as any rendered effect in Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro. If you are working with DV and do not have access to a professional video monitor, you can use a standard television set instead.
In Final Cut Pro you can select the option to Always Render in RGB:
- Select the sequence and choose Sequence > Settings (Command-0).
- Click the Video Processing tab.
- Select "Always Render in RGB."
- Click OK.
