iPod shuffle: Blank page when trying to register new iPod shuffle using iTunes 7.7

Symptoms

When attempting to register a new iPod shuffle (2nd generation) using iTunes 7.7 on your computer, after clicking "Continue" after the "Welcome to Your new iPod" screen, you may see a blank page with only the text "iTunes Store" and no option to continue the registration process.

Resolution

Update to the latest version of iTunes. In iTunes for Windows, choose Help > Check for Updates or use Software Update. On a Mac, choose iTunes > Check for Updates or use Software Update.
