Mac OS X 10.5: No printer queue after installing printer drivers from Software Update
Symptoms
If you do not see a printer queue for your new printer after you connect your new printer to your Mac and you download and install the printer drivers from Software Update, you may need to unplug the USB cable to the printer then plug it in again (hot plug) to complete the setup of your new printer queue.

Resolution
There are a number of ways to create the new printer queue once Software Update has completed installing the new printer drivers.
- Unplug the USB cable to the printer then plug it back in. This also works for multiple printers that are connected to a USB hub.
- Go to the Print & Fax System Preference and repeat the Add printer function.
- Restart your Mac.
