MobileMe, Mac OS X 10.5: "An error was returned from the server" alert after changing your MobileMe password

Symptoms

After changing your MobileMe password, if you open MobileMe preferences in System Preferences, you may see this alert:

"An error was returned from the server. Please try again later."

Products Affected

Mac OS X 10.5, MobileMe

Resolution

In MobileMe preferences, click Sign Out..., then enter your MobileMe member name and password.

Note: Signing out with MobileMe preferences will disable MobileMe Sync, iDisk Sync, and Back to My Mac. After signing back in, you may need to enable these features again if you use them.
