MobileMe and Apple ID passwords cannot accept some characters

Symptoms

Some characters cannot be used in your MobileMe or Apple ID passwords (which are separate). MobileMe will advise you that "Your password is invalid", and you will be unable to save the password.

Resolution

Only use characters that are supported by Apple's servers when you create a password (see the chart below). It's a good idea to use a combination of character types so that your password will be more secure.

You can use any of these characters in your Apple ID or MobileMe passwords:
