iDisk Syncing does not sync all folders on the iDisk

Symptoms

With iDisk Syncing enabled, some folders on your iDisk may be aliases instead of regular folders.

In some situations, attempting to open aliased folders may cause a WebDAV authentication dialog to appear.

Products Affected

Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.3, Mac OS X 10.5, iDisk, MobileMe

Resolution

No troubleshooting is necessary. The following aliased folders on your iDisk are intentionally not synced in order to improve performance:

  • Web
  • Software
  • Library
  • Backup
  • Groups
  • Shared (the Shared folder is available for Family Pack accounts)

You can access the folder by double-clicking the alias. Viewing the contents of these folders requires an active Internet connection.

Note: If you receive a WebDAV authentication prompt when you attempt to open one of the aliased folders, simply enter your MobileMe member name (without the @me.com or @mac.com) and password in the Name and Password fields.
