Additional Information
About opening a Final Cut Server client
When you go to the website provided by your Final Cut Server administrator and click Download, a page of instructions appears and a file (FinalCutServer.jnlp) is automatically downloaded to your computer. If you follow the instructions provided on that page, the application is installed on your computer, a desktop application is created, and the Final Cut Server login screen appears.
After your Final Cut Server client has opened, you can safely delete the .jnlp file that has been downloaded to your desktop or Downloads window.
Note: Whether or not you create a desktop icon for Final Cut Server, you can always open your client version of Final Cut Server by going back to the website provided by your administrator or double-clicking the FinalCutServer.jnlp file.
About keeping Final Cut Server in your Dock
To add Final Cut Server to the Dock, drag its icon from the desktop (or other location to which you saved the application) to the Dock.
Important: You must create a desktop application before saving the Final Cut Server client in your Dock. If you haven't created a desktop application for the Final Cut Server client, you can choose to keep Final Cut Server in your Dock; however, when you attempt to open Final Cut Server from the Dock, the Final Cut Server login screen will not appear.
Important: This installation of Final Cut Server client can only be used by the user currently logged in to the computer. If other users use this computer, they must install their own clients. For this reason, it is recommended that you do not add the Final Cut Server application icon to the computer's Applications folder.
