iTunes および QuickTime for Windows は、Visual Basic Script (VBScript) なしではインストールできない
現象
iTunes と QuickTime のインストールの準備段階で、インストーラが突然異常終了し、次のメッセージが表示されることがあります。
「このパッケージをインストールするときに予期しないエラーが検出されました。このパッケージに問題がある可能性があります。エラーコードは 2738 です。」
場合によっては、以下のようなエラーメッセージが表示されることがあります。
Visual Basic Script (VBScript) がインストールされていないか無効になっているために、iTunes をインストールできませんでした。VBScript がインストールされているか確認し、ウイルス対策ソフトウェアおよびパーソナルファイアウォールソフトウェアでスクリプトブロックを無効にし、VBScript を登録してから、iTunes をインストールしてください。

VBScript エンジンを登録する
最新の VBScript エンジンがすでにインストールされている場合は、再度登録します。以下の手順を実行するには、管理者または管理権限のあるユーザとしてログインする必要があります。
Windows 2000 または Windows XP の場合：
1. 「スタート」メニューで、「ファイル名を指定して実行」をクリックします。
「名前」フィールドに次のコマンドを入力し、「OK」をクリックします。
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
3. 「DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded」というメッセージが表示されます。
4. 「OK」をクリックし、iTunes または QuickTime をもう一度インストールしてみます。
Windows Vista の場合：
1. 「スタート」メニューの「検索の開始」フィールドに cmd を入力します。
2. 検索結果リストで cmd を右クリックし、表示されるポップアップメニューの「管理者として実行」をクリックします。続行するためにユーザの許可が必要な場合は、「続行」をクリックします。(管理者としてログインしていない場合は、管理者のログイン情報とパスワードで認証する必要があります。)
3. コマンドプロンプトウインドウに、次のコマンドを入力します。
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
4. キーボードの「Enter」キーを押します。「DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded」というメッセージが表示されます。
注意： 「error code 0x80004005」が記載されたメッセージが表示される場合、このコマンドウインドウを表示したユーザに管理者権限がありませんでした。
5. 「OK」をクリックし、iTunes または QuickTime をもう一度インストールしてみます。
