Symptoms

This document details the minimum system requirements for a Mac or Windows PC to use iPhone and iPod touch (Some features for iPod touch may require an update).

Resolution

The following two charts detail Windows and Mac software and hardware configurations that Apple supports for iPhone and iPod touch. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes and the latest iPhone and iPod touch software available through iTunes.

  2. Yahoo! Address Book and Google Contacts are online contact managers. Google Contacts syncing in Windows requires iTunes 7.7. or later.
  3. Older versions of iPhone / iPod touch software may have different iTunes software requirements. Refer to the iPhone specifications for details.
  4. Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or greater required.
  5. This excludes Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, but includes Windows Media Center editions of Vista and Windows XP Media Center (32-bit editions).

Additional Information

Other Notes:

  • Microsoft ActiveSync requires a properly configured Microsoft Exchange 2003 or 2007 Server
  • MobileMe wireless syncing requires an active MobileMe account.
