Final Cut Server: Uploading and transcoding a file without a filename extension will stop the job
Symptoms
When uploading an asset and transcoding it to a different format (for example an uncompressed asset to H.264) the following dialog will appear: "Upload Failed. The file is not a movie file."
Products Affected
Final Cut Server
Resolution
You can usually avoid this issue by adding the appropriate file extension to the filename. (For example, for a Quicktime file you would add ".mov".)
Alternatively, you can follow these steps:
- Choose File > Upload.
- Expand the Advanced Options disclosure triangle.
- In Advanced Options > Transcode Setting, choose "No Conversion".
- Click Upload.
