Symptoms

When you export a QuickTime movie from Final Cut Pro, choosing the "All Markers" option does not include chapter markers that will function in DVD Studio Pro or iDVD.

Products Affected

DVD Studio Pro, iDVD, Final Cut Pro

Resolution

Take the following steps to export a QuickTime movie from Final Cut Pro for use in DVD Studio Pro or iDVD.

  1. In the Final Cut Pro Browser, select the sequence that you want to export.
  2. Choose File > Export > QuickTime Movie.
  3. Configure settings in the Save dialog:
In most cases, you will leave the Setting pop-up menu at Current Settings and include both audio and video. If you have created any markers, choose DVD Studio Pro Markers from the Markers pop-up menu. iDVD and DVD Studio Pro can use either self-contained or reference movies, allowing you to decide whether to make the movie self-contained based on other requirements (disk space and so on).
  4. Click Save.
