Symptoms

Apple multimedia applications may not launch after you have performed an Archive and Install of Mac OS X.

Products Affected

iLife '08, Final Cut Express, Aperture, Logic

Resolution

Multimedia applications generally require reinstallation after you perform an Archive and Install of your operating system. The installers for these applications frequently add frameworks and resources that will need to be re-installed for the applications to function as designed. You may find that other applications on your computer may also require re-installation.

After installing, use Software Update to ensure you have the most recent versions of the software. You may need to run Software Update more than once to apply all updates (such as a Mac OS Combo Updater) and make sure all of the installed components are up-to-date.

Likewise, installing any of these applications by dragging them from one computer to another is not recommended.
