Final Cut Studio: Color space settings for REDCODE to ProRes transcoding
Symptoms
When using Compressor 3.0.2 to transcode clips from REDCODE Raw codec to Apple ProRes, it's important to choose the correct color space settings for the best image quality.

Explicitly choose a color setting in Compressor:
- In the Inspector window, click the Filters button to disclose the tabs for Video, Audio and Color.
- Click the Color tab.
- Change the Output Color Space setting to one of the following:
- Preserve Source
- SD (601)
- HD (709)
Important: Don't leave Output Color Space at it's default setting; choose one of the other options. If you're not sure which to choose, use Preserve Source.
