GarageBand '08 - After a tempo change, gaps may appear between regions on RI tracks

Symptoms

If you change the tempo of your song, gaps may appear between regions on Real Instrument (RI) tracks that have been split.

This may happen if you record an RI track, split it into 2 or more regions, then increase the tempo of the song before playing through the Real Instrument recording. It does not happen if the recording is played through first.

Resolution

If you have a recording affected by this issue, you can close the gap by manually dragging the right edge of each region to the right over, until it meets the left edge of the next region on the track.
