Keynote: Keynote may unexpectedly quit when using certain fonts in Mac OS 10.5

Symptoms

Keynote may unexpectedly quit when using specific fonts on your Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) system. This unexpected behavior will most likely occur when adding a build to text using the following fonts and playing the presentation:

  • Courier Oblique
  • Courier Bold Oblique
  • Helvetica Oblique
  • Helvetica Bold Oblique

Resolution

 Changing the fonts above to any other fonts, such as the following fonts, will return correct behavior:

  • Courier New Italic
  • Courier New Bold Italic
  • Helvetica Neue Italic
  • Helvetica Neue Bold Italic
