iMovie: Unable to Export Movies Using Sony DVMC-DA2

Make sure the LANC cable is connected to your video camera when you export a movie using a Sony DVMC-DA2.

Symptom
When you try to export a movie, an alert box appears with this message:
Solution
If you are using a LANC/Control-L device:
If you are not using a LANC/Control-L device::
These settings will output video through the Sony DVMC-DA2 for recording to a VCR or other analog devices.
When you try to export a movie, an alert box appears with this message:
- "There is not a tape in the camera, please make sure that you have a tape inserted and that it is not write protected."
Solution
If you are using a LANC/Control-L device:
- Make sure the LANC cable is connected to your video camera or VCR. (See your user's manual for more information.)
If you are not using a LANC/Control-L device::
- 1. Set iMovie preferences to "play through to camera."
2. Set the Sony converter to DV in.
3. Click the play button in the iMovie window.
These settings will output video through the Sony DVMC-DA2 for recording to a VCR or other analog devices.
