Apple Studio Display 17 (LCD): Apple Displays Software Won't Install
If your computer has Mac OS X 10.0.4 or later, or Mac OS 9.2 or later, you do not need to install the Apple Displays software that comes with the Apple Studio Display 17 (LCD).

Symptom
When you try to install the Apple Displays Software an alert box with this message appears:
"This software cannot be installed on this computer."
Solution
You do not need to install this software. It is already part of Mac OS X 10.0.4 and later, as well as part of Mac OS 9.2 and later.
You should install this software if your computer uses earlier versions of the Mac OS, although it is better to upgrade to a later version.
