Using the Computer as a Server Without a Monitor

You can set up your computer to run as a server without an attached monitor. Follow these steps:
    1. Set up your computer, including connecting a monitor, mouse, and keyboard as described in the "Setting Up Your Power Mac G4" manual.
    2. Configure your server software as follows:
    • Configure network access.
    • Configure the security application so that the server can be controlled remotely.
    • Set passwords for access to the server.
    • Set network services to start up when the system starts up.
    3. Be sure network services are operating properly.
    4. Disconnect the monitor.

If you're using remote access software, follow the instructions that came with your software for logging into and controlling the server.
