The Mac mini (Early 2006) can be used with the Apple Remote to activate features like Front Row.

The IR Sensor is located to the right of the slot-loading optical drive:

  1. Slot-loading optical drive
  2. Built-in infrared (IR) receiver
  3. Power indicator light

For best results when you use the Apple Remote with your Mac mini (Early 2006), make sure of the following:

  • You have an unobstructed line-of-sight view to the front of the computer (as shown above).
  • You are using the remote within 30 feet of the computer.
  • You are pointing the lens end of the Apple Remote directly at the front of the computer.
