iChat 6.x: Requirements for video effects and backdrops

Requirements for video effects and backdrops

If your computer meets certain requirements, you can use video effects or change the backdrop of a video chat.

To quickly view your computer’s video capabilities, choose Video > Connection Doctor, and then choose Capabilities from the Show pop-up menu.

To see what type of processor your computer has, choose Apple menu > About This Mac.

To find out the speed of your Internet connection, contact your Internet service provider (ISP), or refer to the documentation your service provided. Note that the speed listed in the service provider’s documentation is a maximum possible speed; the actual speed may be lower.
