Install and update Safari extensions

Extensions can modify the behavior of Safari, so you should download and install extensions only from trusted sources.

  1. Open Safari if it is not already open.
  2. Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click Extensions.
  3. Do any of the following:
    Option Description
Download and install extensions: Click Get Extensions to open the extensions webpage, and then follow the instructions to download and install one or more extensions.
Update extensions: Click Updates, and then click the Install button for the extension you want to update, or click Install All Updates.

To have updates installed automatically whenever they’re available, select Install Updates Automatically.

Turn all extensions on or off: Click the On/Off switch.
Uninstall an extension: Click the Uninstall button for an extension you want to remove.

Any changes you make to extensions, including installing and uninstalling, take effect when you navigate to a new webpage or refresh the current page.

You can also choose Safari > Safari Extensions to quickly open the extensions webpage.
